Howdy Friends,It gives me great pleasure to introduce to you BYON F. SMIDDY, with his outstanding Bluegrass Gospel long play record. This is Byon’s first LP. Byon was born March 2, 1928, in Harlan County, Kentucky. He was one of seven sons of a coal miner in a family of thirteen children. He learned what hard times really were in his early years. Byon moved to the Detroit area in the late 1940’s. He found Christ as his personal Saviour in 1956. It was then he started singing and working for the Lord. He has traveled in quite a few states working in different churches. You will have to agree with me, this man sings with the spirit and from his heart. You can also tell that God has given him a special talent of song writing by the outstanding songs on this LP; and there are many more where these came from. So I will join Brother Byon in saying, we hope you will receive many blessings from this LP.

Yours in Christ,
Tommy Crank

Dedication

It is with great joy that I have been able to record this album of songs that the Lord inspired my heart to write. I especially dedicate it to my mother who has gone to be with the Lord. She has been responsible for my relationship with God. I sincerely hope these songs will be a blessing to all that hear them.

  • Bill Carpenter – engineering

Technical Note

COMPATIBLE STEREO – This record is designed to play on either stereo or mono players and you should encounter no problems playing it on mono players manufactured since 1962; many are finding that it will also play on older mono players with little or no tracking problems. If your record should skip, be sure and check your needle and playing arm adjustment, as these are the usual causes of new records skipping or skating. Keep disc in cover when not in use and avoid handling playing surface.
