The Springtime Gospel Quartet – Sing His Praises
This gospel quartet, out of Indiana, had ties to both Russell County and Pulaski County in Kentucky and the Separate Baptist Church denomination. “Sing his praises” was written by the mother of two of the band members.
The Springtime Gospel Quartet proudly presents this first album of songs which have been the most requested since they have been singing together the past ten years. Brother Ottis Roberts sings tenor, his wife, Marie, sings alto, Brother Lonzo Wiggington plays the electric guitar and sings bass while his wife, Margaret, takes the lead. Their son, Michael Ray, age 12, plays the bass guitar.
We have selected as our title, “Sing His Praises,” a song written by Eva Polston, the mother of Marie and Margaret. We are thankful for the privilege to promote our Mother’s talent in this manner. We are also using “Give Me Jesus” which has been our theme song for our radio broadcast for five years. Another favorite of so many is, “When He Blest My Soul,” the first song this quartet sang in church together as a group.
We humbly submit these songs for our many friends who have expressed a desire to have our songs on record, and prayerfully hope they will bring much happiness to all those who listen to them.
